Kitchen islands are the focal point of modern homes. We fabricate quartz island countertops with seamless waterfall edges, mitered joints, and oversized slab cuts that make a statement. Every piece is digitally templated and CNC-cut for millimeter accuracy, then hand-polished and installed by the same team that built it.
Why a Quartz Island?
The island is where your kitchen comes together — cooking, prep, eating, homework, entertaining. Quartz gives you a surface that handles all of it without showing wear, and waterfall edges turn a functional island into a design statement.
Seamless Waterfall Edges
Our CNC-cut mitered joints create a continuous slab-to-floor flow. The veining runs uninterrupted from the top surface down the sides, making the seam virtually invisible.
Oversized Slab Capability
We fabricate island tops up to 120 inches in a single piece, minimizing seams. For larger islands, we place seams strategically in low-visibility areas.
Built for Daily Use
Islands take the most abuse in a kitchen — hot pans, knife prep, spills, kids' homework. Quartz handles all of it without staining, scratching, or needing maintenance.
Consistent Pattern Matching
When a waterfall requires multiple slab pieces, we book-match or continuation-match the veining so the pattern flows naturally across the top and down each side.
Island Countertop Ideas
Popular styles from recent Winnipeg installs.
Single Waterfall
Quartz flows down one side of the island to the floor. The clean vertical face becomes a visual anchor, especially effective with bold veining patterns against flat-panel cabinetry.
Double Waterfall
Both ends of the island drop to the floor for a fully wrapped, furniture-like look. Best suited for freestanding islands that are visible from multiple angles.
Contrasting Perimeter & Island
Use a dramatic veined quartz on the island and a solid, quieter tone on the perimeter — or reverse it. Defines the zones and adds visual depth to open-concept layouts.
Extended Overhang for Seating
A 12–16 inch overhang on one side creates a breakfast bar without separate furniture. We add concealed steel supports for overhangs beyond 10 inches.

Common Questions
Everything you need to know about our island countertops.
How are waterfall seams made invisible?
We cut the mitered joint at a precise 45° angle using CNC, then match the veining pattern across the top and vertical faces. The joint is bonded with color-matched adhesive and polished flush. In most lighting conditions, the seam is virtually undetectable.
Can my existing island get a waterfall edge?
In most cases, yes. We template your existing island cabinet and fabricate the quartz to wrap it. The cabinet structure may need minor reinforcement to support the vertical slab weight, which we'll assess during the template visit.
How large can a single island slab be?
We can fabricate island tops up to 120 inches (10 feet) as a single piece. For larger islands, we strategically place seams in low-visibility areas and match the pattern across the joint.
Does the waterfall edge cost more?
Yes — waterfall edges require additional slab material and precision mitering. The exact cost depends on the number of sides and the height of the drop. We include this in your all-inclusive quote.
What supports do oversized overhangs need?
Overhangs up to 10 inches are self-supporting with proper cabinet structure. Beyond that, we install concealed steel corbels or a plywood subtop for reinforcement. These are invisible once installed.
